NEED BOOKS!

People, I just went to the library today and got 5 books. Here's the list:
The Pearl
The Odyssey
The Light in the Forest
A Midsummer Night's dream
Great Expectations
Can anyone suggest me something NEW that my eyes can handle? (For example, no Twilight!) I don't really like fantasy, and I'm getting into the romance books, but I'm having trouble finding one that's mild enough for my naive eyes?

    For romance your eyes can handle try THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY by Jenny Han, TEN MILES PAST NORMAL BY FRANCES O'RAORK DOWELL, UNEARTHLY BY Cynthia Hand, THE CUPCAKE QUEEN by Heather Hepler unless you read them all in 6th grade :)

    And please check my blog tomorrow...I am having an author interview!
